When our pet buddies get this rash. The first reaction would be is to deny its existence and tell ourselves that it is just because of the weather or something like that. And when someone tells us that it may be Mange or Scabies, we say, "not my dog". Yes, it could happen to any dog no matter what size, breed, or color. Mange starts out as little lumps with puss on your dog's skin. These lumps should never be popped no matter what as it makes the spread of the disease faster. When you see or feel these lumps on your dog bring him immediately to a veterinarian for a shot. Generally, doctors would give them Ivermectin for Demodex Canis Mites. These mites burrow under our pet's skin and lay eggs there so a regular anti flea shampoo would not do the trick. You can inject Ivermectine on your pet yourself if you do not have enough money for a veterinarian. Once you have injected your dog with it, vets advice is not to bathe the dog for at least 4 days. You will know that the mange is about to disappear when the infected area dries up and dandruff like flakes appear on it. If after 3 weeks upon the date of injection there still are lumps, give the dog a second shot. Usually it works fine on the second shot.
