Effects of Brushing
Brushing your dogs coat is as essential as giving him/her her cod liver oil. Here are some positive effects of brushing your dog's coat:
1. Removes Loose Hair on the dog's coat.
2. Makes the house or Kennel easier to clean.
3. Produces a nice shine on the coat.
4. Provides better hygiene for pets.
5. May remove lice and mites.
What Brush to use
In choosing the brush, one must first know what type of coat your dog has. If your dog sport a long hair you may want to consider using a brush with long bristles or a large comb. When using such comb, beware of tangles as it may be painful for your dog and rather hard to untangle. If your dog's coat is short, buy yourself a brush with short and compact bristles. If you are a cheap skate or just out of budget, just use a shoe brush. It really works, i tried.
Tips on Brushing
Dog's love the attention from their owners. If your dog does not want to stay in one place and sit on command, you could talk, sing, or just pet him/her so that he will be relaxed before brushing him. Brush it's coat until you could see no loose hair on your dog. Remember the more you brush, the shinier the coat gets.
